‘A series of 3 still life settings by Knol, showing an imaginary perspective on the future of food culture. The work shows imaginative ‘food mutants’ which arise as authentic food is exposed to the chemical and technological revolution. At first glance, the arrangement reminds of a 18th-century still life, but soon it becomes clear that the food has evolved to the food of the future’

Ed Bing Lee, a Philadelphia-based artist, has been perfecting his knotting artistry for over 25 years and now is able to create practically anything using basic macrame knots. With his “Delectables” series, the Chinese artist delivers a range of delicious-looking knotted dishes. As he states «My initial attraction to the process of knotting was its immediacy and the fact that little specialized equipment is required, which allows for great latitude in approach as to design, concept and technique.»

Με βάση τη Φιλαδέλφεια των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, o Ed Bing Lee ασχολείται με την την δημιουργία τέχνης με κόμπους για πάνω από 25 χρόνια. Για την συλλογή του «Delectables», ο Κινέζος καλλιτέχνης δημιούργησε μία σειρά από τρόφιμα τα οποία αν και δεν τρώγονται φαίνονται νόστιμα! Όπως δηλώνει ο ίδιος «Αυτό που με προσέλκυσε στη συγκεκριμένη μορφή τέχνης ήταν η αμεσότητά της και το γεγονός ότι δεν απαιτούνται ειδικά εργαλεία κάτι που προσφέρει μεγάλη ευχέρεια στην προσέγγιση της ιδέας, του σχεδίου και της τεχνικής.

Sweet Meat

Using meat scraps, animal blood and fat and raw meat, German artist and photographer Jasmin Schuller made these not so vegetarian-frendly, tempting though desserts. For her Sweat Meat series of so-called desserts, all it took was outstanding talent and attention to detail as she made no use of a graphics editing software.

Χρησιμοποιώντας υπολείμματα κρεάτων, αίμα, λίπος και ωμό κρέας, η Γερμανίδα καλλιτέχνης και φωτογράφος Jasmin Schuller δημιούργησε αυτά τα επιδόρπια τα οποία σίγουρα δεν είναι κατάλληλα για χορτοφάγους. Για την Sweet Meat, όπως ονομάζεται η συλλογή, το μόνο που χρειάστηκε ήταν το ταλέντο της και η προσοχή στη λεπτομέρεια καθώς δεν έχει γίνει χρήση κάποιου προγράμματος γραφικών.
